Here is a question I'm pondering...Why does Arrow (and probably other dogs do the same thing) feel compelled to lick up and eat pieces of herself that fall onto the floor or in her bed? Whether its the ointment that falls onto her bed or literally pieces of her burn, she tries to eat them (even with the lampshade on her head!) I'm trying to understand this behavior. It could be that she wants to lick her wound but can't get to it and this is the next best thing. It could be that she wants to clean up after herself (dogs are pretty clean). It could be some other kind of instinct. But I'm trying to understand her desire to do this. It's not her best quality, but she still is the cutest thing ever!

Much better! What a cute shirt.
Why do dogs have to sniff other dog's butts to say "HI"? Why do they like to eat cat and horse poop? There are bits of their language and customs we will never understand...I think that's ok:) They'll still be in MY best friend catagory--cute as ever!!love to you from your Michigan-based "family"
Don't you just have the biggest and most understanding heart? Yes, you're right. Really, why do any of us do some of the things that we do? Who's to say NOT eating your own tissue is any less ODD? That Boney, she teaches me something everyday!
Glo... she's a dog!! this is "normal"behavior for an animal. You're projecting human stuff. As for "poor Sally" I send you my deepest empathy for being an attentive care taker. And yes Sally this could be a peek into the future about Glo's ability to care take so STAY HEALTHY!!! Anyway Glo remember to put your thoughts on healing especially around Arrow because that is the energy she will connect with. Love yas Jo
